Ivan Franko National Academic Music and Drama Theatre in Ivano-Frankivsk plans to close season with the play “Nation” on the Pip Ivan mount.

It was announced by the director of the Ivano-Frankivsk National Drama Theater, People’s Artist of Ukraine Rostyslav Derzhypilskyy in an interview with the local TV Company “Third Studio”.

“We have an idea to make a play “Nation” on Constitution Day [June 28] on the Pip Ivan mount. It will be a symbolic closing of the season. Perhaps in this situation it will be the best way out, because it is nature, we can keep a distance, and for audience we can make online transmission” said Rostyslav Derzhypilskyy.

The play “Nation” is a drama-requiem based on the book of the same name written by M. Mathios (staged by R. Derzhypilskyy). The play is based on real events that took place in the Hutsul region in the 40s of the twentieth century. The play was first shown on the stage of the F Ivano-Frankivsk National Drama Theater in 2010.
