Online Info Day of the project “Adaptation of the former observatory on Mount Pip Ivan to the needs of the high-altitude rescue training centre (PIMReC)” within Cross- Border Cooperation Programme Poland-Belarus-Ukraine 2014-2020 was held. This meeting was devoted to safe tourism in the mountains and improvement of rescuers operation in the high mountain area due to equipment, procured within PIMReC project and further establishment of International Training Centre for rescuers.

Rescuers will meet with the tourists on May 18 during PIMReC Info Day
A new initiative of the Specialized Search and Rescue Unit of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Ivano-Frankivsk region “Safety in the Mountains” has been launched. During the first online meeting, the topics that are the most interesting for the tourists were announced, as well as questions from tourists using social networks were answered. Taras Brynda, Head of the fourth specialized search and rescue group, also announced the next round of Q&A. It will be held on May 18 as part of the Info Day within the project “Adaptation of the former observatory on Mount Pip Ivan for the needs of Alpine Rescue Training Center” (PIMReC), funded by the European Union under the Cross-Border Cooperation Program “Poland-Belarus-Ukraine-2014-2020 ».

The rescuers installed additional signs for tourists
The rescuers install additional route signs for the hiking tourists not to get lost in
the heaps of snow. During heavy snowfall they help the tourists to orient
themselves. A shooting team of one of central television channels of Ukraine visited
the Observatory.

In summer this year, the Technical Secretariat of the Cross-Border Cooperation Programme Poland – Belarus – Ukraine 2014-2020 planned to conduct an integration meeting of all cross-border project coordinators called “How much we have progressed for so many years!” within the Observatory at 2028 m height. Unfortunately, the quarantine restrictions interfered in these plans. But, as soon as there occurs such a possibility, this meeting will be held. It was announced at annual Programme summary event “PBU on the air”.
