Online Info Day of the project “Adaptation of the former observatory on Mount  Pip Ivan to the needs of the high-altitude rescue training centre (PIMReC)” within Cross- Border Cooperation Programme Poland-Belarus-Ukraine 2014-2020 was held. This meeting was devoted to safe tourism in the mountains and improvement of rescuers operation in the high mountain area due to equipment, procured within PIMReC project and further establishment of International Training Centre for rescuers.

A new initiative of the Specialized Search and Rescue Unit of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Ivano-Frankivsk region “Safety in the Mountains” has been launched. During the first online meeting, the topics that are the most interesting for the tourists were announced, as well as questions from tourists using social networks were answered. Taras Brynda, Head of the fourth specialized search and rescue group, also announced the next round of Q&A. It will be held on May 18 as part of the Info Day within the project “Adaptation of the former observatory on Mount Pip Ivan for the needs of Alpine Rescue Training Center” (PIMReC), funded by the European Union under the Cross-Border Cooperation Program “Poland-Belarus-Ukraine-2014-2020 ».

On February 18, IV Steering Committee Meeting of the Project “Adaptation of former observatory on the Pip Ivan mountain to the needs of alpine rescue service training center“ (PIMReC) that is being implemented under financial assistance of the European Union within  the cross-border cooperation Poland-Belarus-Ukraine 2014-2020 took place partially offline in Tatariv (Ivano-Frankivsk region) and partially online.

On February 18, PIMReC Project IVth Steering Committee Meeting will be held under online platform pu.webex.com based on Cisco CollaborationFlex Plan software that allows to conduct online events for all the stakeholders under Webextechnology in video conferencing mode. 

It is planned that PIMReC Project Coordinator – theRector of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian NationalUniversity – Igor Tsependa, Head of PIMReCInfrastructural Group, the Vice–Rector of VasylStefanyk Precarpathian National University – Yaroslav Shynkaruk, Head of Project ManagementDepartment, PIMReC Manager – Lyubov Zinyuk,Project Managers at the University of Warsaw – JanTygielski and Yurii Tkachuk, Project Partners at theDepartment of State Emergency Service of Ukraine, headed by the Deputy Head Mykola Burlaka, ProjectManager at the Mountain Volunteer Search andRescue Bieszczady Group – Karolina Kiwior, Managers of the Joint Technical Secretariat of theCross-Border Cooperation Programme Poland – Belarus – Ukraine 2014-2020 will participate in the meeting.

The rescuers install additional route signs for the hiking tourists not to get lost in
the heaps of snow. During heavy snowfall they help the tourists to orient
themselves. A shooting team of one of central television channels of Ukraine visited
the Observatory.

The cooperation with professionals is a valuable experience, a key to success in the project management sphere.

In summer this year, the Technical Secretariat of the Cross-Border Cooperation Programme Poland – Belarus – Ukraine 2014-2020 planned to conduct an integration meeting of all cross-border project coordinators called “How much we have progressed for so many years!” within the Observatory at 2028 m height. Unfortunately, the quarantine restrictions interfered in these plans. But, as soon as there occurs such a possibility, this meeting will be held. It was announced at annual Programme summary event “PBU on the air”.

Today all Partners of the Project “Adaptation of former observatory on the Pip Ivan
mountain to the needs of alpine rescue service training center“ (PIMReC) that is
being implemented under financial assistance of the European Union within the
cross-border cooperation Poland-Belarus-Ukraine 2014-2020, participate in annual
Programme event – “PBU on the air”.

Rector of the Precarpathian National University named after Vasyl Stefanyk, – Igor
Tsependa, introduced progress of the Project “Adaptation of former observatory on the Pip Ivan mountain to the needs of alpine rescue service training center“ (PIMReC) that is
being implemented under financial assistance of the European Union within cross-border
cooperation Poland-Belarus-Ukraine 2014-2020, to the participants of International
Scientific Conference “90 Years Anniversary of Polish Eastern Studies – the Past, the
Present, the Future”.
