3rd Steering Committee Meeting of the PIMReC Projec

On April 22, 2020 partners of the project PIMReC – «Adaptation of former observatory on the Pip Ivan mountain to the needs of alpine rescue service training center» organized online coordination meeting via Cisco WebEx cloud platform. Project aim is to establish close cooperation between Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University and Warsaw University, Polish and Ukrainian rescue services to enhance the safety of mountain tourism.

15 useful hiking apps

Nowadays mobile phone is one of the things that we almost always have in our pocket – also in the wild mountains. Modern phones provide many opportunities, and making phone calls has long ceased to be their main function. We spend more time using different apps. We asked our rescuers from Pip Ivan Mountain Rescue team and Mountain Volunteer Search and Rescue Bieszczady Group to share their favorite outdoor apps and tested them out. Round table for tourist organizations was held within PIMReC project

On February 20 within the project entitled “Adaptation of the former observatory on the Pip Ivan Mountain for the needs of the Mountain Rescue Training Center” (PIMReC) at the Precarpathian national University in Ivano-Frankivsk a round table was held. During the event for various tourist companies and organizations in Ivano-Frankivsk region the importance of implementing the PIMReC project for improving the safety tourism and cross-border territories in the Carpathian Mountains was presented.

TRAINING CANCELED

Due to the spread of COVID-19, all trainings for rescuers and events within PIMReC project scheduled for April postpone.

We will inform you about the new dates as soon as the situation stabilizes, and we will be able to make appropriate decisions.

Joint Polish-Ukrainian mountain rescue services training have begun

On December 12-14, 2019, in Wetlina (Poland), 10 Ukrainian rescuers from the Pip Ivan Mountain Rescue team (Department of State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Ivano-Frankivsk region) and 10 Polish rescuers from Mountain Volunteer Search and Rescue Bieszczady Group (GOPR Bieszczady) participated in common training.
