The most picturesque and the most popular tourist route to the Observatory is the way from Dzembronia village to Vukhatyi Kamin mountain and further along the Chornohora Mountain Ridge to Pip Ivan mountain. On November 2-4, volunteers of “Karpatski Stezhky” Foundation, managed by Vasyl Fitsak – head of Yavirnyk search and rescue department, installed a new stand with schematic map of tourist routes and installed updated indicators in the center of Dzembronia village. Vasyl Fitsak informed about it at his Facebook page.
The newspaper “Reporter” in its permanent section honoured Vasyl Fitsak – the Head of Yavirnyk
Search and Rescue Station – for doing his job well and considering reasonably
in advance how to prevent and save. Though,
as most of the rescuers in the Carpathians do.
On August 24 – the Independence Day
of Ukraine, play “Natsia” ( “the Nation”) after book by Mariia Matios was
performed by actors of Ivano-Frankivsk Drama Theatre named after Ivan Franko in
the premises of the former observatory at Pip Ivan mountain.
By means of the event called
“Unattainable Nation”, the partners, recovering the observatory, commenced new
additional social art project “THEATRICAL PIPIVANNIA AT OBSERVATORY” under the
Project “Adaptation of former observatory on the Pip Ivan mountain to the needs
of alpine rescue service training center“ (PIMReC) under financial assistance
of the European Union within the
cross-border cooperation Poland-Belarus-Ukraine 2014-2020.
Journalists
from Television News Service (TNS) of 1+1 Channel, ranked in top-5 of the most
rated TV programmes in Ukraine, told all the Ukrainians
about who and what the
Observatory at Pip Ivan mountain is renovated for.
The correspondents visited the top of the mountain and saw with their own eyes what is under way there and the rector of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University – Ihor Tsependa replied all the questions concerning the project «Adaptation of former observatory on the Pip Ivan mountain to the needs of alpine rescue service training center» (PIMReC) and implemented with the financial support of the European Union within the Cross-border Cooperation Program Poland-Belarus-Ukraine 2014-2020 and further plans of the Precarpathian University and Warsaw University for transformation of the Observatory into a strong scientific center.
On the
Independence Day of Ukraine actors of Ivano-Frankivsk Drama Theatre named after
Ivan Franko will play the legendary performance “Natsiia” (“the Nation”) at
different sites of the former observatory building at Pip Ivan mountain. Time

The pray
performance after the same name book by Mariia Matios (adaptation for the stage
by the Honoured Artist of Ukraine – Rostyslav Derzhypilskyi) that has been
known for 10 years already not only in Ukraine, but also far abroad,
particularly in Poland, will uncover the tender wounds of the past within the
decorations of the mountains and acting space of the former observatory
building. This symbolic requiem will present its audience with confession and
remission to “friends” or “foes”, “innocent” and “guilty” martyrs of history.
The project
initiators hope that they will provide opportunity to watch online everything
that will take place on the Independence Day at height of 2028 m with the help
of modern technical devices. Presence at unique performance “Unattainable
nation” about apocalyptic dilemmas of life and death, honour and dishonour,
love and hatred, where the uncombinable combines, where styles and and trends,
languages and religions are mixed.
In the Eastern Carpathians there is now the so-called “high tourist season”. Unfortunately, it is often associated with numerous accidents and interventions by mountain rescuers. As reported by the Department of State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Ivano-Frankivsk region, mountain rescuers provide aid to injured and lost tourists almost every day.
On August 4, 2020, the Mountain rescue team of the Department of State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Ivano-Frankivsk region presented modern rescue equipment intended for transportation injured people in mountainous areas.
